Sansa Trio - Sansa Trio Vol. 2 (1966)

Originalmente postado no Loronix em 17 de abril 2007.

Comentários originais incluídos

Everyday I learn something that I don't know at Loronix and today was a day that I learned a lot of things, as follows:

a. You can have the best equipment available at the marketplace, but if you save your money buying ordinary cables instead of the best you can find, your last generation equipment will deliver gramophone results. I'm testing a new cable with this new Caetano package, if you think the quality has improved, this is the reason.

b. Sansa Trio Vol. 2 has Airto Moreira on drums replacing the nice drummer fellow of Volume 1.

c. Maestro Jose Briamonte is the piano player and probably the leader of Sansa Trio.

d. Airto Moreira makes the difference and makes a great contribution on Volume 2, which is much better than Volume 1.

e. I need to take a time and list the albums I loose hope to find and them compare with this Caetano Rodrigues package, which is the one that brings the hardest to find stuff.

f. We need to write comments and give feedback to the great work Caetano is making to Loronixers. Tomorrow, I will make a repost on that educational video.

This is Sansa Trio - Sansa Trio Vol. 2 (1966), for Som Maior, featuring Jose Briamonte (piano), Airto Moreira (drums) and Jose Ordoñez (bass).

Tracks include:

01 - Sambidú (Durval Ferreira / Maurício Einhorn)
02 - Caô Xangô (Johnny Alf)
03 - Aruanda (Geraldo Vandré / Carlos Lyra)
04 - Mar Amar (Roberto Menescal / Ronaldo Bôscoli)
05 - Sou Sem Paz (Adilson Godoy)
06 - A Resposta (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
07 - Bossa Só (Johnny Alf)
08 - Dois Peixinhos (Durval Ferreira / Luis Fernando Freire)
09 - Chuva (Durval Ferreira / Pedro Camargo)
10 - Tudo Que É Preciso (Durval Ferreira / Regina Werneck)
11 - Foi Assim (Laércio Vieira)

Hi Zeca,
a big thanks to you and Caetano for this special album. I always wanted to hear this LP after I read Caetano`s comments in his great book.

Quatro Durval Ferreira!

Jose Briamonte - Ritmos e Vozes | Agora e Samba (1973)

.
.
Originalmente postado no Loronix em 17 de março 2007

That's exactly what I was thinking for this Saturday, Samba, perfect for dancing and perfect for Loronixers, even those who don't have what we call in Brazil "Samba no Pe". I don't have Samba no Pe, but I know everybody likes it. I will tell you what it is.

This is Jose Briamonte - Ritmos e Vozes
Agora e Samba (1973), for Odeon. That's a really inquisitive record. Maestro Briamonte is in charge of everything, arrangements, and conduction also taking the role of musical director. I have an assumption that female singing and percussion instruments are played by the obscure group Ritmos e Vozes, however, it is just a hint. The repertoire is based on Samba tunes from Vinicius de Moraes, Ana Maria, Eduardo Gudin, Luiz Americo, Noel Rosa and others. Another Jose Briamonte LP that I never heard before. If you are in the mood of an orchestra LP, just like the legendary Briamonte Orchestra, think twice. This is all about Samba songs with girls singing.

Tracks include:

01 - Tristeza Pé no Chão (Armando Fernandes "Mamão")
02 - Orgulho de Um Sambista (Gilson de Souza)
03 - Meu Pai Oxalá (Toquinho / Vinicius de Moraes)
04 - Assim Não Dá (Ana Maria)
05 - Verso Novo (Eduardo Gudin / Caú)
06 - Depois Que o "Taruim" Chegou Nunca Mais Melhorou (Capoeira)
07 - Ontem (Zé Di / Astrogildo Silva)
08 - Pra Minha Mulata Eu Sou Mais Eu (Ton Graça / Carlos Costa)
09 - Desafio (Luis Américo / Bráulio de Castro / Clóvis de Lima)
10 - Mexe Mexe (Otacílio de Jesus / Ciro / Bloco Carnavalesco Bafo da Onça)
11 - Bahia Berço do Brasil (Baianinho)
12 - Quem Ri Melhor (Noel Rosa)

Jose Briamonte - Briamonte Orchestra (1970)

I think this Saturday is the day to show the great and forgotten music available on zecalouro's shelf. I don't like to run Loronix under controls, lists, catalogs, etc. Great part of the pleasure of being here is to make the selections based on instincts and even associating the experiences I had on the day with the albums posted tonight. It is a way to present this great music with passion, giving a personal touch in the process. Caetano runs on the same chaotic pattern, making his selections on what HE wants to hear, this is great.

This is Jose Briamonte - Briamonte Orchestra (1970), for Elenco, another LP that deserves special attention, highly recommended by Caetano Rodrigues. It is weird to show this album after ten months of Loronix. I work together with Sabadabada to have the last Briamonte release; Sambeco (check Loronix Find It!) while this gem was under my nose for months. Really great LP produced by Roberto Menescal and arranged by Maestro Briamonte.

Tracks include:

01 - Tema de Cristina (José Briamonte)
02 - Airport Love Theme (A. Newman / Paul Francis Webster)
03 - Primavera (Vai Chuva) (Cassiano / Silva Rochael)
04 - Rota Sul (José Briamonte)
05 - True Grit (E. Bernstein / D. Black)
06 - Assim na Terra Como no Céu (Roberto Menescal / Nonato Buzar / Paulinho Tapajós)
07 - O Embalo do Pato (José Briamonte)
08 - What The World Needs Now Is Love (Burt Bacharach / David)
09 - Zip (José Briamonte)
10 - Everybody's Talkin' (Neil)
11 - Caos (José Briamonte)
12 - Quarentão Simpático (Renatão) (Marcos Valle / Paulo Sergio Valle)
13 - Atmosfera (José Briamonte)

Jose Briamonte is one of the great obscure musicians I knew here in Loronix. I can´t wait the time to hear it.

Friends,
Thanks or the feedback on Briamonte.
Trix,
Sim.

This record is very special. I was looking for it for a long time and now I find it here, thanks a lot. About
this song "Tema de Cristina", there is another wonderful record by maestro Erlon Chaves (do you know this record?)...sublime.
Abraços,
Angela

Nice to fill in the gaps sometimes. I knew there must an album of the rest of this as Zip and Atmosfera are both from the Rede Globo novela A Proxima Atracao, one of the earliest soundtracks from Globo when they still released via Philips with Nelson Motta's executive production.
