Hello, good evening! And thanks Moos for writing. Loronix was on hiatus for almost two weeks and things were really strange down here. My health has been stable; it was only a matter of accumulated work. I’ve been working as freelance since January and two websites I was making for my customers reached the final development stage in the last days, all together. Weird time of very hard work.

I will keep the community informed as soon as the result of these engagements gets on-line. Who knows someone needs a website and hires me, helping also Loronix.

This is Pernambuco e Seu Conjunto – Em Ritmo de Danca (1957), for Polydor, with the well know pistonist Pernambuco delivering piano playing backed by a Conjunto, surprisingly credited by Polydor. This is not the first Pernambuco album at Loronix and you should not take by mistake the percussionist Pernambuco do Pandeiro, also active during the 1950′s. Pernambuco was also in charge of arrangements and some organ playing. The conjunto brings important musicians, such like the bassist Luis Marinho and the legendary Brazilian guitarrist Bandeirante.

Fico muito feliz por saber que está melhor. Por aqui também alguma coisa esteve suspensa enquanto durou a sua ausência.
Já descobri, encontrei e reencontrei tantas coisas maravilhosas no seu blog… Algumas que me faziam tanta falta!

Someone said here a great thing about Hermeto Pascoal, it was a Loronixer, I cannot remember whom. He said Hermeto was the real Brazilian music ambassador, it is a very nice statement and I totally agree.

AdHoc, the frequent FLAC contributor sent this album in a very good timing, taking advantage of the last Airto Moreira post with participation of Hermeto Pascoal.

This is Hermeto Pascoal e Grupo – Lagoa da Canoa, Municipio de Arapiraca (1984), for Som da Gente, featuring Hermeto Pascoal and the constellation of top-notch musicians assembled as “Grupo”, which is Hermeto Pascoal as I like most.

AdHoc sent to us a 1992 CD reissue with a different cover and some additional tracks not included in the first vinyl issue. I can’t decide which cover I like most; Hermeto Pascoal photos are always amazing.

What a nice album, it was a surprise to hear 04 – Papagaio Alegre with Hermeto e Grupo making on recording something that I use to do with zecalouro for leisure; they mix a parrot talking with the music. I’m thinking about recording some cuts with zecalouro to show Loronixers. Meanwhile, stay with this truly amazing Lagoa da Canoa, Municipio de Arapicara, which is the name of city where Hermeto Pascoal was born (Lagoa da Canoa), later changed to Municipio de Arapiraca.

I bought the original album when it came out, then bought a CD version when it came out on CD, but neither version has “7 X 88″ which I really enjoyed! Thank you!

For fans of Hermeto Pascoal, be sure to check out ‘The Happiness Project’ by Charles Spearin. Charles interviewed his neighbours on the subject of happiness and used their vocal inflections to create a truly unconventional yet beautiful album.

Hello, Good Evening! I want to start this Tuesday showing a brand new artist to Loronixers, a maestro, Ayres da Costa Pessoa or Pernambuco. Caetano said Pernambuco was a very popular artist, but I could not find much info on Google or any other website. Pernambuco is also an instrumentalist, playing two very different instruments, piano and trumpet. Anyway, I think it is better check what we have here.

This is Pernambuco e Sua Orquestra - Show (1963), for Musiplay. This is a very different orchestra album with some nice blending of Frevo and Choro. Track one can cheat you with some birds singing with the orchestra making a confusing outcome, take care. The album is very good, sounds like a big band with several brass solos and a drummer playing really wide. Let's see what Loronixers have to say about Pernambuco.

Here we go on the continuation of a very old idea of showing Loronixers live Hermeto Pascoal performances, which are the ones that Hermeto Pascoal really shines, improvises and makes reharmonization of themes he played on official CDs and LPs. By the way, Hermeto Pascoal used to urge the audiences to record his live performances and spread the tapes, in an attempt to overcome the indifference of recording companies to his music.Hermeto send green lights to promote his live performances, Loronix and this green board is very proud of doing it.
This is Hermeto Pascoal e Grupo – Le Petit Journal, Montparnasse, Paris (1990). Little is known about this concert, except we have CD quality audio and 94 minutes of music, with Hermeto playing piano, sax, percussion and synthesizers, accompanied by O Grupo on nine tracks, some of them not identified. I hope you enjoy this Hermeto Pascoal concert, one of the great Brazilian music ambassadors.
