Hello, good evening! It is amazing that even after 2 years Loronix is still capable of revealing never released albums of very important artists. I believe that only a few friends had the chance to hear this album, recorded by Tito Madi in partnership with Maestro Rafael Puglielli in 1958 and never released on CD.

Another awesome Jorge Mello contribution, which I would like to say thanks for keeping us amazed with really nice music and content.

This is Tito Madi – Sua Voz… Suas Composicoes (1958), for Continental, featuring only Tito Madi compositions and Maestro Rafael Puglielli performs solo with orchestra on tracks 01 and 07 and probably delivers accompaniment to Tito Madi across the whole session. Little I know about this really hard to find album, such as all others recorded by Tito Madi in the late 50′s.

Hello, good evening! Let’s start today with something really unique a tribute album recorded in 1984 in homage for a very important Brazilian popular music artist, which is Sivan Castelo Neto, father of the singer and composer Vera Brasil and the journalist Berto Filho.

In spite of being of a great importance on the development of several different aspects of Brazilian communication and entertainment industry, Sivan Castelo Neto is unknown for many people. He was the first to record jingles in Brazil, being also a gifted musician, recording more than 3,000 jingles at his own recording studio.This album was produced by Berto Filho and Hugo Marotta and had the sponsorship of Petrobras, never being commercially available, a nice surprise sent by the great cvllos, featuring the participation of renowned Brazilian musicians on tracks never released before, such as: Luiz Eça, Tito Madi, Mauricio Einhorn, Helena de Lima, among many others.
Let’s see.

This is Sivan Castelo Neto – 60 Anos de Musica (1984), featuring two records, the first with music composed by Sivan Castelo Neto and performed by a constellation of special guests, and the second (Depoimentos) with Testimonials and jingles by Sivan Castelo Neto, which is very interesting for the friends who understand Portuguese and appreciate old jingles. This album was found by cvllos on a really bad condition and I decided to include the back cover with no image processing.

Hello, this is the original soundtrack of the movie Cronica da Cidade Amada, by Carlos Hugo Christensen (1964), a comedy with short stories about the daily life of people in Rio de Janeiro, the Cariocas. I did not see the movie and probably only a few people in Brazil had the chance to watch it.

Taiguara, Tito Madi, Portinho, Blecaute and Rio 65 Trio perform the soundtrack. The cover brings a picture of a girl with a “pipa” style that I use to have a lot of fun at the beach with my parents. I could never see this “pipa” again, how I miss this time.
If you do not know what is a “pipa”, it is the device used by Benjamin Franklin to discover electricity.

Fala, Lôro…. beleza pura?
Muito interessante esse disco. Já tinho visto em outro blog mas resolvi deixar para uma outra hora. Pois agora que desci esse disquinho relembro de algumas short stories muito engraçadas desse filme que até a um tempo atrás eu tinha ele em VHS gravado no Canal Brasil na época em que eu assinava. Passa direto neste canal. Tem uma do marido que diz pra mulher que vai viajar e acaba ficando em um hotel na Atlântica, gozando de alguns momento de solteiro, porém acaba se dando mal, com um desfecho pra lá de inocente. E hilário. Bem coisa da época mesmo. Meu pai riu muito quando viu esse filme! Se identificou legal. Ele morava em Copa nos anos 60 e era surfista na época. Imagina. E esta trilha sonora é bem light, do jeito do filme. Ah! aquela nostalgia, uma saudade das coisas que eu não vivi. Sentimento comum a todos que amam o Rio de Janeiro, nascidos aqui e apaixonados por todos os momentos da cidade desde sua criação. Gosto particularmente dos anos 60 e 80. Boa pedida! Grande escolha! Bela homenagem à cidade amada. Valeu, Lôro! Confio cada vez mais em você! Abração, meu camarada!

Yesterday, my Internet connection got lost in the middle of the night and I could not make the final post of the day, being back only a couple of hours ago. That’s why I’m back in the middle of this Wednesday to show friends another recorded by Tito Madi in the “A Fossa” series, the last album from the sequel. Let’s see.

This is Tito Madi – Cancao de Amor | A Fossa Vol. 4 (1974), for London. It was nice to hear Tito Madi rendition to Sangue Latino, a 1974 blockbuster by Secos e Molhados, he made it really different from the original. Little I know about personnel in this recording session and it seems it is a rule at the sequel, although we could not check what we have at A Fossa Vol. 2, which is the one with the nicest cover.

Tonight was a long fight against hosting availability. I thought I could not make this awaited last post today. Videos are probably down and the ones scheduled for today were not released. I wish I could afford a better hosting to provide a better service to our community.
Anyway, what really matters are the friends we have at Loronix, friends such like the mighty bossanovadreamer. He sent this album to Loronixers, perhaps one of the most obscure Tito Madi albums. Thanks to bossanovadreamer. Let’s see.

This is Tito Madi – Tito Madi em Nova Dimensao (1968), for RCA Victor, the first and only album recorded by Tito Madi for RCA Victor studio. I have been wondering if there is a connection with the fact of this album being one of the hardest to find Tito Madi releases. The bossanovadreamer likes it very much and I also have Tito Madi em Nova Dimensao among my favorites. Attention to tracks 05 – Franqueza and 06 – Sem Ter que Chorar by Mario Telles and Mario Castro Neves, also in charge of arrangements.

I never gave the deserved attention to this album and I decided to give it a spin tonight. The first track worth the admission price. Perhaps the last time I heard Maysa was months ago, when her voice spread over the house I started feeling great and the tracks with Maysa, Tito Madi, Maysa, Tito Madi, etc. makes it very nice to hear. I don’t have idea if these tracks were released before on regular albums, but I’m sure RCA made a great repertoire selection. Let’s see.

This is Maysa & Tito Madi – Dois Na Fossa (1975), for RCA Candem. There are some very good tracks on Dois na Fossa. Fantasia de Trombones and Fantasia de Cellos are performed by Maysa and each one brings three songs. They are great. Tito Madi performs some tunes of the almost impossible to find Tito Madi – Tito Madi em Nova Dimensao (1968), they are: Helena, Helena, Helena, Franqueza, A Mesma Historia Antiga, Sem Ter Que Chorar and others.

O disco da Maysa de onde sairam essas faixas se chama “Maysa” foi lançado em 1966, arranjos de Erlon Chaves. Atuamente se encontra em catálogo em CD nas melhores lojas do ramo.

This is a contribution of a great enthusiast of the music from Brazil, a great enthusiast of Loronix and a very good friend of zecalouro, the legendary bossanovadreamer, one of the first bloggers who created and maintained a blog dedicated to Bossa Nova at blogspot.com. bossanovadreamer dedicated this post to so many people that I will not list them here, I will just dedicate to Loronixers, which is everybody who stay connected with our community. This is Tito Madi - Amor e Paz (1963), for Entre/CBS, with orchestra arrangements, direction and conduction by Astor Silva. Self-explanatory release awaited by many Loronixers. I received a message from a friend saying that Loronix needs to approach more Tito Madi albums. I agree, Tito Madi discography is huge, mainly from the late 50's to 60's where he released almost fifteen LPs and 10-inches. Thanks for this one, bossanovadreamer.

This is the most "bossa nova" among all Tito`s recordings. It`s really amazing, he demonstrates to have a complete domain of the samba rhythm, whithout abandoning his romantic verve.
This record is also important because its instrumental track was used as a instrumental basis for another wonderful recording: Neco`s "Coquetel Bossa Nova", already posted here in Loronix.

Edson, you are absolutley right- I have several Tito Madi albums- and this is probably his most bossa oriented album he ever made-one of my favourite bossa Top 20 albums. yes the thing with the Neco album is so as you said.I remeber that there was also a notice on the Sombras website about .I am happy you enjoy .

I think that everybody knows that the Brazilian pianist Pedrinho Mattar has passed today at the age of 70, Sao Paulo state Santos city. It is disturbing because I had the chance today several of Pedrinho Mattar out of print records. Now I'm sad without a single Pedrinho Mattar album for a tribute. Pedrinho Mattar is great, part of my childhood memories and an important musician that build part of my decision to be also a musician with his TV shows. Probably Caetano will send us a good Pedrinho Mattar LP for a late, but proper homage to this great musician.

Stay with this great Tito Madi record, already scheduled to close the day. I spoke with Caetano about this record and he was very happy to see Sonho e Esperanca at Loronix. bossanovadreamer also gave nice feedback on this album, saying that it is among his Tito Madi favorites.

Hi Zeca,
sad to hear that Pedrino Mattar dies.
A good tribute would be a repost of the Pedrinho Mattar Trio No.3, record you posted in September2006.
Unfortunaly tracks of Side 1 were the same as Side 2.
Perhaps Caetano have also this LP for a repost?
