This band and LP is a complete mystery for me and probably for the friends who had already the chance to hear it. Actually, this album sounds very similar to that last release by Conjunto Balambossa – Poema do Adeus. I received several messages with compliments by that release. It is amazing how people like the sound and groove of the Hammond B3 organ.
I would like to know who is behind this record.

This is Conjunto D’Angelo – Muito Incrementado (1968), for Equipe. That’s all I know about it, anyway, it is a sought after album that I could find on some auction sites for more than a hundred dollars. Feedback is really appreciated.

Some additional info about D’Angelo. His albums was realised by Equipe (EQ 819 “Incrementado” as Conjunto D’Angelo and “D’Angelo” EQC 876, also as Whatmusic CD), Atonal and Caravelle.

Zeca, tenho um palpite sobre a magia do hammond B3: Lafayette e seu órgão marcante na Joevm Guarda. O personagem, aliás, ainda precisa de uma menção à altura no seu belo Loronix. No livro sobre Roberto, Lafayette diz que sua inspiração maior foi Ed Lincoln. Em tempo: disco bacana este! Em tempo 2: congratulações por ter retirado a Evinha. Ética sempre! Onde está o texto da Folha sobre o blog? Não achei no site do jornal (quem sabe v. não põe um link?)

Hello, Good Night! Picture yourself at home with no access to the Internet during 18 hours with your life out there, banking account, emails, customers, etc. I'm making the move to a new service and I hope nobody will be stopping me with this change. Anyway, I'm back again to business and I want to entertain Loronixers before answering tons of emails and others things to do. I will let you with an album from a obscure band from the early 70's that make a great success when their first LP was shown to Loronixers.

This is D'Angelo - D'Angelo (1970), for Equipe. Nobody could tell me details about this group, but they make a great success, especially among European DJs. If you are in the mood of the groovy sounds of the 70's and the Samba Soul scene, which is represented by artists such like Tim Maia, Os Diagonais, Cassiano and others, this is the album that you cannot skip. The repertoire has several well-known tunes, performed by female chorus, probably the ladys at the cover.

I reissued this LP because the cover looked so great and when we heard the record we knew we had to release it.
Durval Ferreira managed to track down organist and leader D'Angelo who was living in terrible poverty on a beach near Vitoria.
We sent him some money as a kind of advance, but it is always sad to hear this kind of story.

Hello, good evening! I’m back, and it is always very nice to be back to Loronix. Thanks for being here! I spoke about a given Musidisc release to stay on top of the excellent JIN contribution. However, a technical problem with the music and image transfer occurs and we will need to wait an additional day for it.

Meanwhile, I want to share an album that certainly would not be a strong candidate to Loronix under normal conditions. It was released by Equipe, another legendary Brazilian record company in the 60’s, featuring a group that I never heard about, which is Bossa 4, a blend of instrumental and vocal group, featuring guitar, bass, drums, percussion and a very nice organist.

Let’s see.

This is Bossa 4 – Repeteco Outra Vez (1968), for Equipe. Little I know about this album and this group, but I’m confident that additional information should come very soon from several and serious Equipe’s collectors around Loronix, especially Bossanov, our rarities advisor from Russia.

Some time ago I think, that “Bossa 4″ was the extension of “Bossa Tres”, but according to Instituto Memoria Musical Brasileira, “Bossa 4″ members was:
- Carmindo (g, voc),

- Joy (dr, perc),
- Pedrinho (b),
- Borginhos (org,vib,p, acc), so it’s totally different cast, probably from Jovem Garda movement.
And off topic question for discussion: when we will celebrate the 50th birthday of bossa nova?

Hello, Good Evening! moos never stops amazing me. His great passion to the Music from Brazil and the work he is doing on improving his ripping and image processing skills makes me feel very proud of having moos as our great friend. He sent this fantastic album using the Mail Big File icon and just wrote a message with no signature. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m quite sure this LP came from moos. If I’m wrong, please correct me. If I’m right, moos, say hello, please.

This is Tema 3 – Madrugada 1:30 (1969), for Equipe, following the very nice Tema Tres – Tema 3 (1966), for Atonal. Release date is uncertain (*** not anymore, Justin sent the correct date on comments section) but it was probably released in 1967 or 1968. Tema 3 is lead by the Brazilian pianist and maestro Gilson Peranzzetta, credited as Gilson Peranz by Equipe. The trio also features Luiz Roberto (bass) and Atayde (drums) with the special guest, arranger and violao player Alberto Arantes. I’m not sure if the bassist Luiz Roberto is the same from Os Cariocas, this is something that Loronixers can confirm on comments. Several others musicians are credited as special guests on some tracks, you can check the full listing inside the music. Thanks moos, you are a great finder.
