Cronica da Cidade Amada – OST (1964)

.
.
Originalmente postado no Loronix em 06 de outubro 2006.
Comentários originais incluídos.

Hello, this is the original soundtrack of the movie Cronica da Cidade Amada, by Carlos Hugo Christensen (1964), a comedy with short stories about the daily life of people in Rio de Janeiro, the Cariocas. I did not see the movie and probably only a few people in Brazil had the chance to watch it.

Taiguara, Tito Madi, Portinho, Blecaute and Rio 65 Trio perform the soundtrack. The cover brings a picture of a girl with a “pipa” style that I use to have a lot of fun at the beach with my parents. I could never see this “pipa” again, how I miss this time.
If you do not know what is a “pipa”, it is the device used by Benjamin Franklin to discover electricity.

Tracks include:

01 – Crônica da Cidade Amada (Taiguara)
02 – Aparição (Taiguara)
03 – Quero Morrer no Rio (Blecaute)
04 – Muito Tempo a Esperar (Taiguara)
05 – Meu Fraco É Café Forte (Rio 65 Trio)
06 – Crônica de Amor (Paulo Autran)
07 – Receita de Domingo (Taiguara)
08 – Receita de Domingo (Paulo Autran)
09 – O Pombo Enigmático (Diálogo dos Pombos)
10 – Aruanda (Rio 65 Trio)
11 – Retrospecto

Imagina. Boa pedida! Grande escolha! Bela homenagem à cidade amada. Valeu, Lôro! Confio cada vez mais em você! Abração, meu camarada!

Taiguara – Taiguara, Piano e Viola (1972)

I will be open and honest, I’m not versed on Taiguara discography and career. Caetano Rodrigues could say something; he introduced Taiguara to Loronixers, delivering his first and very hard to find LPs for Odeon. Besides these first albums, I never took any later Taiguara release for a spin, being this one the exception. Taiguara was an artist that could make nice things on several different styles, from Bossa Nova to political songs. I think this one shows a different Taiguara, more acoustic, not on social concerns, I hope someone brings more clarification on this Taiguara career stage. Let’s see.

This is Taiguara – Taiguara, Piano e Viola (1972), for Odeon, featuring Taiguara with a combo of piano (played by Taiguara), bass, drums, violao and guitar with arrangements by Eduardo Souto Neto, Lindolfo Gaya and Taiguara, orchestra arrangements in charge and conduced by Eduardo Souto Neto and Lindolfo Gaya. Taiguara released several hits in the early 70′s, but I could not identify some of them at this album, with the exception of the title track, Piano e Viola.

Tracks include:

Personnel

Lindolfo Gaya, Eduardo Souto Neto
(arrangements, orchestra arrangements)

Taiguara
(piano, electric piano, arrangements)

Menezes
(violao, viola)

Chiquito
(guitar)

Oswaldo Damiao
(bass)

Lula
(drums)

Track List

01 – Teu Sonho Não Acabou (Taiguara)
02 – O Troco (Taiguara)
03 – Manhã de Londres (Taiguara)
04 – Luzes (Taiguara)
05 – Pros Filhos do Zé (Taiguara)
06 – Rua dos Ingleses (Taiguara)
07 – Piano e Viola (Taiguara)
08 – Mudou (Taiguara)
09 – Pra Laetitia (Taiguara)
10 – A Flor na Areia (Taiguara)
11 – Eronita e Eu (Taiguara)
12 – O Homem (Taiguara)

Zeca, you might be missing something if you don’t know any later Taiguara records. “Imyra, Tayra, Ipy, Taiguara” is probably the greatest Brazilian collection of songs ever put to tape. Taiguara’s previous work (including this one) is nice, but nothing compared to that timeless 1976 masterpiece, where the magician powers of Hermeto Pascoal and Wagner Tiso (and virtually every top-notch musician available) was employed to create the definitive soundtrack of a politically oppressed Brazil. There’s a full website devoted to this record at
http://www.imyra-tayra-ipy-taiguara.com, where everyone can confirm the magnitude of this statement and the very particular environment that led to it.

Edu Lobo, Johnny Alf, Taiguara e Pery Ribeiro - Juntos! (1988)

Here we go again with another Caetano Rodrigues contribution, this time different, since Caetano gave this record as a gift on my last trip to Sao Paulo. Thanks Caetano. However, simplicity is not a word on Caetano's dictionary. Caetano said to let it ready and wait for further instructions. That's what I did, like a soldier and the instructions had just arrived here: release at 1 Million Hits day. Very wise of Caetano, 5 artists together on a single album is really a celebration.

This is Juntos! (1988), for Phonodisc, featuring Edu Lobo, Johnny Alf, Taiguara, Pery Ribeiro and Sergio Ricardo. I just spoke with Caetano about Juntos! and we agreed that some tracks were released only at this album and never were made available on regular releases by these artists. Any help to realize which are the songs never released on regular albums is really appreciated.

Tracks include:

01 - O Nosso Olhar - SERGIO RICARDO
02 - Uma Vez um Caso - EDU LOBO
03 - O Amor da Justica - TAIGUARA
04 - Chega de Saudade - PERY RIBEIRO
05 - Orgulho de Bom Sambista - JOHNNY ALF
06 - Valsinha - PERY RIBEIRO
07 - Gingando Dobrado - EDU LOBO
08 - Paz de um Grande Amor - JOHNNY ALF
09 - Guarania Guarani - TAIGUARA
10 - Do Lago a Cachoeira - SERGIO RICARDO

Nice collection, but it looks like these tracks all come from LPs released during this era, mostly on Continental. For instance, the Edu songs are definitely from Limite das Águas (Continental, 1976). The Johnny Alf songs may be from Desbunde Total (Chantecler, 1978), but I don't know if they're the same versions. Ditto for the Pery songs, which may be from Pra Tanto Viver with Luiz Eça (Continental, 1986), the Taiguara cuts (Canções de amor e liberdade, Alvorada, 1983), and the Sergio Ricardo (Do Lago à Cachoeira, Continental 1979).

Tuca e o melhor album de Françoise Hardy

.

.
.Ficha Tecnica:

Faixas:

Viens (Bilat/Tuca)Question (Hardy/Tuca)Meme Sous la Pluie (du Pac/Tuca)Chanson d’O (Tuca)
Le Martien (Gerald/Tuca)
Mer (Hardy/Tuca)
Oui Je Dis Adieu (Hardy/Tuca)
Doigts (Hardy)
La Maison (G.G./Tuca)Si Mi Caballero (Gerald/Tuca)
Bati Mon Nid (Gerald/Tuca)
Reve (Hardy/Taiguara)

.
É interessante para ver que a ultima música do album não tem a Tuca como compositor mas um outro Brasileiro, o Taiguara..
.
.Deste album aqui a letra de Le Martien.

Le Martien

dans le ciel
un soleil rouge
qui attend
et soudain
un homme étrange
qui descend
qui se doutera
que ce Martien
a bravé l'espace
pour me demander ma main

dans le ciel
le soleil rouge
reparti
mais il brille
sur la grisaille
de ma vie
qui m'accordera
dans sa pensée
l'auréole de gloire
qu'alors je mériterai

quand le soleil rouge reviendra
et loin de la terre m'emmènera
loin de la terre m'emmènera
loin de la terre m'emmènera
.
.
Vamos seguir com Tuca no proximo post
