Originalmente postado no Loronix em 17 de outubro 2007.
Comentários originais incluídos.

Since I decided to put more focus in the Choro genre a couple of months ago, Loronixers are gradually increase their response to this wonderful music in terms of number of downloads and direct feedback given. Choro is not for starters, and the feedback you are giving demonstrates that our community is really open to new styles and new artists.

I’m making today this album, which is really nice tribute to Jacob do Bandolim by one of his disciples, Deo Rian. This is the outcome of Deo Rian research on not released Jacob do Bandolim compositions, twelve compositions never released before and performed by Deo Rian and his Conjunto Noites Cariocas, featuring a very young Raphael Rabello on Violao de 7 Cordas. Let’s see.

This is Deo Rian e Conjunto Noites Cariocas – Ineditos de Jacob do Bandolim (1980), for Eldorado, featuring 12 Jacob do Bandolim compositions never released before on recording. Deo Rian released this year the Volume 2 of Ineditos de Jacob do Bandolim and I urge Loronixers to check on-line stores for availability.

Varios Artistas – Guitar Workshop in Rio (1992)

Originalmente postado no Loronix em 21 de julho 2007.

With this high fever and body pain, I had to dig some pretty old and forgotten music to make things easier for today. The good new is that I found forgotten albums that are really good, such as this one. We have here the Brazilian edition of a JVC (probably a record label run by the Japanese Japan Victor Company) series of guitar workshops around the main countries in the world. Sounds interesting and it is very interest, let’s see what we have here.

This is Guitar Workshop in Rio (1992), for JVC, featuring renowned Brazilian violao (acoustic guitar) players. I could not find detailed information on this workshop, but the music recorded here is amazing, delighting both musicians and fans of violao playing. Brazilian Guitar Ensemble is also a mystery as well the cover artwork. I was luck to find the one I made at that time and if someone has the original in high resolution, please, let us know.

Tracks include:

After listening «Mistura Fina» ¬ John Patitucci,
think we’ve found the bass player …
It seems he had played a lot with João Bosco.
