Hello, good evening! I found this album on one of those old vinyl shops in Rio, and I always thought it was just a compilation with tracks taken from previous albums.
If I knew this is the first album recorded by Os Cariocas after a 21 years hiatus, I would have made it available at Loronix earlier. Minha Namorada features a repertoire with the greatest Os Cariocas tunes. The cover brings autographs of each component, where Quartera signs in place of Luiz Roberto, who unfortunately died in this period. Confirmation is needed, but I believe this album was signed by Os Cariocas after the tragic Luiz Roberto passing.
This is Os Cariocas – Minha Namorada (1990), for Som Livre. It is unbelievable this album is out of print. The recording quality is amazing and I really recommend that you take good headphones to hear the sophisticated vocal arrangements made by Severino Filho. Os Cariocas is really a unique and very special vocal group.
