Hello, Good Night! Nelson Motta, a Brazilian producer, composer that was part of Bossa Nova, wrote some years ago that Brazil is essentially a country of female singers, using Loronix language, a country of Divas, Brazilian Divas. We have some nice examples here. I will not forget Tuca, she was rather unknown and after being presented here, she certainly got several extra enthusiasts. On a same or larger scale, the same applies to Thelma. Anyway, I'm not sure if we will have the same phenomenon this time, but at least several Loronixers will be taken by surprise with this post, such like Caetano Rodrigues did with me.
This is Marcia - In Bossa (no date), for Malagueta. I don't know how Caetano makes his findings; I searched the Internet several times today and could not find consistent information about this singer. The little I know: this is Marcia debut LP and she knows how to make it, singing with passion and performing great renditions to Bossa Nova standards. Marcia has the accompaniment of Paulinho Lemos (acoustic guitar), Diego Ebeller (piano), Wilma Keuchgueriam (flute), Leo Toniche (drums), Jose Lima (bass) and Marcia Barros (voice).
Tracks include:
01 - Infuencia do Jazz
02 - Nao Vou para a Casa
03 - Moro na Favela
04 - Fotografia
05 - Ela e Carioca
06 - Chovendo na Roseira
07 - Estate
08 - Amor em Paz
09 - Tim Tim por Tim Tim
10 - Voce Vai Ver
11 - Samba de Verao
12 - Insensatez
13 - Voce e Eu

This is indeed a surprise. Never heard of Marcia and she is a delight to hear. I guess you can say you can never go wrong when Caetano says "listen".

Leave it to the jazzman. When he finds someone he likes there is no end to searching for more information. Here's what I found.
MARCIA was born in Rio de Janeiro where she studied classical piano at the age of 8. Living in Portugal since 1990 she started jazz singing and look for fellow musicians for a bossa project. Her interpretations and arrangements of songs preserve a charming simplicity, showing the universality of bossa…
This album showcases her great talent. Her interpretations and arrangements of Bossa Nova songs preserve a charming simplicity, showing that Bossa is as universal as music can be.

The JaZzmAn,
How are you?
This was my first question to Caetano "Is the Marcia from Eu e a Brisa"?
Question was no. This is another Marcia, with the same name. Actually Marcia is Marcia Barros.
I think you will need to make more searches. :-)
Cheers, zeca

Nice plant species. Should be Otanthus maritima, em Portugues Cordeiros da Praia.

This is getting interesting. The Marcia that you have here, with the album "Marcia-In Bossa", is shown in more than one place along with the albums that I listed for the "other" Marcia. In fact they show the same cover along with the covers for the other 4 albums that I listed.
I will keep searching.
